Frequently Asked Questions

What conditions do you support?

I support adults living with neurological conditions including stroke, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, functional neurological disorder, vestibular disorders and acquired brain injury. I also support older adults experiencing reduced strength, balance or confidence following illness or hospital stays.

If you are unsure whether neurological physiotherapy is appropriate for you, you are very welcome to get in touch to discuss your situation.

Do I need a referral to book an appointment?

No referral is required. You can contact me directly to arrange an initial assessment or to discuss whether physiotherapy may be helpful for you or a family member.

Where do sessions take place?

Sessions take place in your own home, this allows therapy to focus on the activities and environments that matter most in your daily life.

How long is an appointment?

Initial assessments typically last 60 minutes to allow time for a thorough understanding of your needs and goals. Follow-up sessions usually last between 30 to 45 minutes.

Can family members or carers be present?

Yes. Family members and carers are very welcome to be present. Involving those who support you can help reinforce strategies and ensure therapy is practical and sustainable.

What should I wear for physiotherapy?

Comfortable clothing that allows you to move easily is ideal. Supportive footwear is helpful if walking practice or balance work is part of your session.

Do you provide receipts for insurance reimbursement?

Yes. Receipts can be provided for insurance reimbursement where applicable. Please check with your insurer regarding your level of cover.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies depending on your goals, condition and circumstances. Some people benefit from a short block of sessions, while others prefer ongoing support. We will discuss a plan that feels realistic and appropriate for you.

Can physiotherapy help even if my condition is long-term?

Yes. Physiotherapy can support people at any stage of a neurological condition, helping maintain mobility, confidence and independence, and adapting strategies as needs change over time.

How do I get started?

You are welcome to contact me to discuss your needs or arrange an initial assessment. We can talk through what you would like to achieve and whether physiotherapy is the right fit for you.
